Position Summary: The Medical Laboratory Scientist collects, processes, and performs laboratory testing in accordance with laboratory protocols. The position functions as a key operator and trainer for instrumentation in assigned discipline. The position functions as charge person as assigned. Required Qualifications: Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination: Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or field related to area or specialty. Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: American Society of Clinical Pathology or National Certification Agency, HEW or military certification is required. New hires must attain certification within 12 months of hire. Failure to attain certification will result in demotion or loss of position. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proven proficiency in the operation of the following: Personal Computer, Telephone, Fax Machine, Photocopier, Printer, electronic medical record, and all laboratory instrumentation used in their area of expertise. #J-18808-Ljbffr
