For this opening, the work is centered establishing the frameworks that enable effective expense management like business-case development, benefit realization, and governance. This Sr Consultant, Finance role will report directly to the VP of P&C Finance Transformation. It is a strong opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys pairing analytical rigor with strategic influence. The position is designed for someone who can evaluate complex expense drivers, build credible business cases, and help leaders make disciplined decisions that improve cost effectiveness and performance across the P&C organization. It will sit at the intersection of finance partnership, expense management, and performance insight.Key responsibilitiesLead analysis that supports strategic decisions related to expense management, cost optimization, and business-case development.Support governance and decision-making processes by bringing structure, financial discipline, and clear recommendations to investment or cost-related choices.Help define and monitor performance expectations through strong financial analysis, KPI thinking, and a focus on accountability for results.Bring an outside-in mindset by connecting financial analysis to broader business context, emerging risks, and opportunities that may affect performance.Contribute to planning and forecasting conversations with timely analysis, clear commentary, and financially grounded perspectives that help leaders act with confidence.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, actuarial science, or a related analytical field is preferred.Experience in finance, FP&A, expense management, or a closely related analytical role, ideally in a complex business environment.Demonstrated ability to build business cases, analyze cost drivers, and support decisions tied to reducing costs or improving financial performance.Understanding of the P&C business will be especially valuable.Ability to work across business partners, synthesize issues clearly, and influence decisions with insight and sound judgment.CompetenciesThis role is especially well suited for candidates who are energized by:Leading through financial insight and helping shape strategic decisions.Creating discipline around performance, transparency, and accountability.Turning business and market context into actionable financial insight.Supporting forward-looking planning, forecasting, and decision support.This role does not qualify for employer sponsored work authorization. Typical Skills and Experiences:Education: Undergraduate studies in finance, accounting, statistics or related subject area. Graduate level studies with advanced degree preferred.License/Certification/Designation: Technical industry coursework or certifications, e.g., CPCU, CPA, NASD, etc. desirable.Experience: Eight years of related work experience in insurance and/or financial services industry. Project management experience.Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Technical expertise in advance financial principles and concepts. Advanced knowledge of accounting, statistics, finance, insurance/financial services industry, company organizational structure, regulatory requirements and financial analysis techniques. Financial project management practices and methodologies. Broad-based knowledge of multiple financial subject areas. Advanced communication skills for verbal and written contact; presentation skills. Project management concepts and techniques. Ability to analyze financial and statistical data and make recommendations for pivotal initiatives.
