Referral Coordinator, Part-Time (Hourly plus Commission)

Modern Law | Arizona | Family Law and Estate Planning

Reports to: Director of Marketing

Schedule: Part-time, approximately 20 to 25 hours per week, including morning, evening, and occasional weekend networking events

Compensation: $30 per hour plus upside referral commission and bonus

We help people through some of the hardest and most important moments of their lives, including divorce, custody, and planning for what happens to the people and things they care about. About the Role

This is a relationship job, not a desk job.

Our best clients rarely arrive from a Google search. They come through people who were already in the room at a pivotal moment. The financial planner who noticed a client's trust was never funded. The CPA fielding a question about inherited property. The therapist working with a couple headed toward separation. The realtor listing a house in a divorce. Every practice area we have is fed by someone who trusted us enough to make an introduction. Those relationships get built in person, one conversation at a time, and that's what this role is for.

As our Referral Coordinator, you'll be the firm's face in the room. You'll attend BNI chapters, chamber mixers, and industry events. You'll build genuine relationships with financial advisors, CPAs, realtors, therapists, and other professionals. And you'll follow up relentlessly so that referrals actually turn into clients. Your work will directly drive our estate planning buildout and strengthen our family law practice at the same time.

Compensation

• Competitive hourly base of $30, paid for event attendance, follow-up, and administrative time

• Bonus commission on every referred matter that converts to a signed client. Upside, with accelerators for estate planning referrals

• Mileage and pre-approved event, membership, and meal expenses reimbursed

• BNI chapter dues and chamber memberships paid by the firm

The best people in this role will earn well above their base. If you build the network, the network pays you.

Why This Role Matters

Most of our future estate planning clients are already sitting across the desk from a financial advisor who has no idea who to send them to. Your job is to make sure that advisor knows us and trusts us. You'll be building something from the ground up, with the full support of the marketing department behind you.

Responsibilities: What You'll Do

• Build the network. Attend BNI, chamber of commerce, and professional association events on behalf of Modern Law. Consistently, not occasionally.

• Develop referral partnerships with various types of professionals who may work with family law and estate planning clients, including but not limited to financial planners, therapists, wealth managers, CPAs, realtors, mortgage brokers, insurance agents, and allied attorneys.

• Own the follow-up. Every card collected, every introduction made, every "let's grab coffee" gets a next step.

• Nurture existing referral sources through regular check-ins, coffees, lunches, and thank yous so relationships stay warm between referrals.

• Represent Modern Law at community events, sponsorships, and speaking opportunities. Identify new events and organizations worth our time.

• Track everything in our CRM, including contacts, touchpoints, referral sources, and conversions, and report on what's working to the Director of Marketing.

• Support joint marketing efforts such as co-hosted workshops, lunch and learns, and educational seminars with referral partners.

Qualifications: Who Thrives Here

You're an exceptional networker and a natural people person. You can walk into a room where you know nobody and leave with three real conversations started. You're comfortable talking with professionals across every industry and every personality type, and you can explain what a family law and estate planning firm does without sounding like a brochure.

You're also organized enough to follow through. Charm gets the meeting. Systems get the referral.

Strong backgrounds for this role may include:

• Licensed real estate agents looking for meaningful supplemental income. You already attend the events, you already know the financial planners and lenders, and you already understand that this business runs on relationships.

• Legal or medical referral coordinators who have built and managed provider or attorney referral networks.

• Business development, outside sales, or community relations professionals with a track record of relationship-driven growth.

• Active BNI, chamber, or professional association members with an established Arizona network.

Requirements

• Demonstrated success building professional relationships that produced measurable results

• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, and genuine comfort initiating conversations with strangers

• Highly organized with disciplined follow-up habits. CRM experience preferred

• Reliable transportation and valid Arizona driver's license. This role is out in the community, not behind a desk

• Availability for morning, evening, and occasional weekend events

• Professional presentation and sound judgment representing the firm publicly

• Prior exposure to legal, financial services, real estate, or healthcare industries preferred
