The Property Director provides leadership, vision, and direction for the stewardship, care, safety, appearance, and operational readiness of FBC’s campus. This leader takes ownership of the overall physical environment, ensuring that buildings, grounds, and ministry spaces are welcoming, well cared for, safe, functional, and prepared to support the mission of making disciples. By cultivating environments of excellence and hospitality, the Property Director helps every guest, attender, volunteer, and staff member experience care from the moment they arrive. The ideal candidate is a servant leader who enjoys solving problems, leading people, managing projects, and caring for the physical resources God has entrusted to the church. This person sees the property not merely as buildings and grounds to maintain, but as ministry environments that should continually reflect hospitality, excellence, and thoughtful stewardship. Responsibilities Cultivate environments of hospitality Champion the physical environment as an extension of FBC’s ministry, partnering with ministry leaders to create welcoming, thoughtfully prepared spaces where people can engage with God and one another. Steward the campus Take ownership of the condition, appearance, functionality, and readiness of the FBC campus. Proactively identify opportunities to maintain, improve, and enhance buildings, grounds, furnishings, and ministry spaces. Create and maintain environments that communicate hospitality, excellence, and care, ensuring every guest and member feels welcomed from the moment they arrive. Lead the Properties team Recruit, develop, and lead custodial, maintenance, and grounds personnel. Foster a culture of teamwork, ownership, service, and continual improvement through coaching and accountability. Equip staff and volunteers to steward church facilities well and support the ministries they serve. Oversee building systems Oversee preventive maintenance and repair of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, roofing, security, fire protection, irrigation, and other building systems to maximize life and functionality. Respond quickly and effectively to facility issues while minimizing disruption to ministry. Manage projects and resources Develop and manage the annual facilities budget, equipment inventories, and long-range capital replacement priorities. Plan and oversee facility improvements, renovations, and capital projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and with high quality. Evaluate vendors, negotiate contracts, manage competitive bidding, and pursue cost-effective, high-quality solutions. Promote safety and security Maintain a safe and secure environment for members, guests, staff, and volunteers. Coordinate facility inspections, emergency preparedness, life-safety systems, and campus security in partnership with the Safety Team. Ensure compliance with applicable codes, inspections, and regulatory requirements. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Loves God and loves people. Strong knowledge of building systems, preventive maintenance practices, and property operations. Ability to develop and lead teams. Accountability This position reports to the Executive Pastor of Operations and serves as a member of the Operations Team. Requirements Five or more years of leadership experience in facilities management, construction, property management, operations, or a related field. Experience managing teams, budgets, projects, vendors, and outside contractors. Working knowledge of commercial building systems and preventive maintenance. Trade certifications, licenses, or related education preferred but not required. Commitment to membership at FBC (if not already a member). Ability to occasionally work evenings, weekends, and respond to emergency facility needs. Salary & Benefits FBC is open to structuring this position as either full-time or part-time, depending on the experience, strengths, and availability of the selected candidate. The scope and schedule will complement the Property Director’s strengths and the capabilities of the broader Facilities Team. Compensation and benefits, where applicable, will reflect the position structure and candidate’s experience and qualifications. If full-time, salary will range from $65,000–$75,000 per year and include benefits such as medical, dental, preschool discount, paid holidays, and a generous paid leave plan.
