You’ll establish and maintain a clear strategy for the engine/transmission controllers and ensure reuse and technical excellence of engineering solutions and components. You’ll work with the key stakeholders from execution, performance, and support teams to ensure common implementation of strategy and to promote technical knowledge for the components.We are seeking an Engineer with demonstrated technical skills to develop winning/robust BOM strategies, oversee solutions, escalate issues, and deliver continuous improvement for the Engine/Powertrain and Transmission!Job ResponsibilitiesLead the controller technical review process to assure compliance with global requirementsMentor DRE’s in common processes & act to support DFMEA reviewsLead in the development of an Inhouse Designed Controller. You will need to interface across the Compute & Connectivity Hardware as well as the Propulsion and Chassis Embedded Controls Technology Management TeamMaintain and refresh BOM StrategiesIntimate knowledge of hardware and software interfacesDeliver BOM which meets Imperatives (Cost, Mass, Investment, Quality)Develop Sourcing Strategies. Support Supplier Development and Qualification (TASL)Maintain Global requirements (SSTS & CTRS Templates, etc.)Create and Maintain Best Practices and Inherent CriteriaApprove BOM Picks and assure math data availabilitySupport PRTS Issue Resolution Perform/lead read across for Safety Tether PRTSPerform/lead read across for NHTSA recalls of competitorsSupport Product Investigations (SFI Process)Support Cost ReductionCreate ICDe and ICDm TemplatesSupport CR/DNsProvide technical leadership for troubleshooting activitiesLeads technical support to manufacturing engineering and production facilitiesSupport global supplier evaluation and localization processLead new designs/major redesigns as technical experts to ensure success, and monitor global BOD/BOM/BOP compatibilityLead the controller technical review process to assure compliance with global requirementsProvide technical guidance for current development or production issues.Participate as a co-leader in the Controller Hardware CCBHW Subject Matter Expert to support software, calibration, and integration issuesSupport ATW/workgroups for regulations updates.
