MRI Technologist I Icon Consulting is partnering with a premier, multi-campus academic health system to locate a qualified Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist I for a permanent, full-time opportunity. This is a Direct Hire placement with our client, located at their main campus in Galveston, TX . ** they are open to those that will relocate, however they would need to do so on their own. Position Overview The MRI Technologist I works independently to complete a variety of routine and special MR procedures. As a vital member of the direct patient care team, you will provide assistance to physicians, optimize protocols for safety and image quality, and deliver exceptional customer service. Compensation & Benefits Salary: $120,000 / year or TBD based on experience - open to 1+ year of experience Position Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire Benefits: full package and very attractive Attire: Scrubs Key Responsibilities Clinical Execution: Perform routine MRI and MRA procedures independently. Physician Assistance: Assist physicians during diagnostic and special procedures, maintaining strict sterile techniques. Protocol Optimization: Adjust and optimize protocols (positioning, technical factors, physiology) to enhance image quality and the patient experience. Quality Control: Perform weekly imaging equipment quality control (QC) checks to ensure safe operational status. Patient Safety: Utilize critical thinking to proactively observe and address patient reactions or changes in condition. Documentation: Ensure accurate, timely documentation of patient procedures and enter appropriate charges at the time of service. Role Requirements Experience: 1+ years of experience as an MRI Technologist. Education: Completion of an accredited MRI training program. Certifications: Must be MRI certified or MRI registry-eligible at the time of hire. Note: Registry-eligible candidates must obtain MRI certification via ARRT or ARMRIT within six (6) months of hire. Life Support: Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Communication: Strong verbal and written English proficiency to support patient safety and team collaboration. Working Environment & Physical Demands Equipment Used: Vendor-varied MR units, contrast injectors, Electronic Health Records (EHR), and PACS. Schedule Flexibility: Attendance and participation in call, weekend, holiday, and disaster team rotations (including emergencies and severe weather) are required. Mobility: Ability to travel to alternate local campus sites if requested. Physical Strength: Must be able to push/pull a minimum of 50 pounds, walk long distances, and stand or sit continuously for up to 60 minutes at a time.
