Substitute Cook

Salary based on experience and education level per TCBOE salary schedule plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation. Pay scale can be found at the following link.

Qualifications:

• Valid Food Handler's Card and meet all local and state health requirements
• Ability to communicate, read, write, make basic calculations and follow written and oral instructions
• Basic computer skills to perform tasks needed for communication (email) and reports (Word & Excel)
• Ability to manage time
• Thorough knowledge of the proper use and care of equipment used in a school kitchen
• In good health, average physical strength with the capability to lift large containers of food and supplies (50 pounds maximum)

General Responsibilities and Goals:

• Become acquainted with county and school policies and with the assigned duties
• Be interested in the school and in the welfare of the children
• Observe working hours, operating policies and all established local, state and federal regulations
• Maintain all lunchroom and kitchen equipment in a clean, sanitary manner
• Supervise the serving of required portions and meal components
• Follow all proper procedure
• Assist other cooks when needed
• Perform other tasks as supervisors may assign
