Substitute Cook
Salary based on experience and education level per TCBOE salary schedule plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation. Pay scale can be found at the following link.
Qualifications:
- Valid Food Handler's Card and meet all local and state health requirements
- Ability to communicate, read, write, make basic calculations and follow written and oral instructions
- Basic computer skills to perform tasks needed for communication (email) and reports (Word & Excel)
- Ability to manage time
- Thorough knowledge of the proper use and care of equipment used in a school kitchen
- In good health, average physical strength with the capability to lift large containers of food and supplies (50 pounds maximum)
- Become acquainted with county and school policies and with the assigned duties
- Be interested in the school and in the welfare of the children
- Observe working hours, operating policies and all established local, state and federal regulations
- Maintain all lunchroom and kitchen equipment in a clean, sanitary manner
- Supervise the serving of required portions and meal components
- Follow all proper procedure
- Assist other cooks when needed
- Perform other tasks as supervisors may assign
