Position Summary This Physical Therapist in our Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation department provides professional physical therapy services through patient evaluation, treatment planning, and education to support recovery and functional improvement. The role coordinates care, develops rehabilitation and home exercise programs, and communicates with patients and families to ensure effective treatment outcomes. Position Key Accountabilities Coordinates all physical therapy and related orthopedic care to ensure appropriate patient treatment. Conducts patient consultation, evaluation, and program planning for all patients. Develops home exercise programs to instruct patients in the required exercises for treatment. Reassesses patient status on an ongoing basis to ensure that treatment goals, plans, and program are appropriate. Communicates effectively with patient/family to ensure knowledge of treatment plan and home exercises. Develops educational programs to increase patient/family and community awareness of physical therapy treatment. Assists in continuing education and orientation of new employees to increase awareness of physical therapy treatments. Performs other duties as assigned. Certification / Skills Physical Therapy (PT) license by the Executive Council of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners – Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners (ECPTOTE) required. Minimum Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy: minimum four years of experience required. Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy: minimum two years of experience required. Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy: no additional experience required. Physical Requirements Exerts up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently and/or up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects. Security Sensitive Position is security-sensitive pursuant to Texas Education Code 51.215 and Texas Government Code 411.094. Requires routine review for criminal history and continuous connections to the government or political apparatus of a foreign adversary.
