As a Driver License Examiner, you will perform the following duties: Conduct Examinations: Carry out standardized skills and knowledge tests for Commercial and Non-Commercial Driver License applicants Assess Qualifications: Evaluate applicant driving abilities, physical readiness, and vehicle conditions against established safety standards Verify Compliance: Review applications and related documents for accuracy and investigate possible irregularities or fraud Inspect Equipment: Check vehicles for required safety features such as inspection stickers, lighting, and windshield wipers Administer Tests: Perform vision screenings and CDL-related exams, including knowledge, pre-trip, and driving tests Audit Programs: Monitor Third Party Examiners and Driver Education teachers for compliance with testing requirements Interested in learning more? Work Schedule & Additional Information Full-time employment Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch. Work overtime and travel to other Driver License Centers when needed Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. Qualifications Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience as a Driver License Examiner Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Two years of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public. Special Requirements All positions require an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver’s License or equivalent and twenty-one years of age at the time of application. All positions require no suspensions or revocations of a driver’s license during the five year period immediately preceding employment. All employees in this job hired after February 28, 2022, are required to obtain an active unrestricted Class M driver’s license within the first six months of employment or before the end of the probationary period and maintain it during employment. This position requires possession of an active Class A Pennsylvania Commercial Driver's License or equivalent with the following endorsements: P and N. The Commercial Driver License cannot have any of the following restrictions: E, L, N, O, or Z.
