Job Duties - ECUHealth Physicians and East Carolina University's Department of Surgery, Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery, are seeking applicants to fill Trauma and Acute Care Surgeon positions (#600113 and 001063). Academic employment at title/rank of Clinical Assistant Professor/Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor/Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor/Professor is available. Tenure track is available to qualified applicants. These positions will report directly to the Division Chief of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery. These full-time faculty roles offer the opportunity to join an established team of academic acute care surgeons providing trauma, surgical critical care, and emergency general surgery services at ECUHealth Medical Center, a nationally verified Level I Trauma Center. The division supports a high-volume trauma program that cares for a broad range of complex and critically injured patients. ECUHealth Medical Center serves as the flagship hospital for ECUHealth and the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. As a fully accredited tertiary referral center, it provides comprehensive inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, and specialty services to patients across eastern North Carolina and the surrounding region.

Minimum Education/Experience - MD or DO from an appropriately accredited institution and conferred by the time of hire, or completed foreign medical education accepted and recognized for ECFMG Certification. Applicants should be board certified in general surgery and have completed a surgical critical care or acute care surgery fellowship and be either board certified or eligible in surgical critical care.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education - Candidates with a special interest in teaching and research are desired.
