A well-capitalized, early-stage natural resources company is seeking a Landman to support the development of U.S.-based energy and mineral assets. Backed by significant private investment and an active board, the organization is focused on advancing domestic resource projects to meet growing demand for reliable, clean energy. The company operates with a lean, entrepreneurial team and holds a large portfolio of privately controlled mineral rights, supported by extensive proprietary data. Position Overview The Landman will report directly to executive leadership and play a critical role in securing and managing surface and mineral rights. This position requires a proactive, field-oriented professional who thrives in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment and is comfortable building relationships with landowners and stakeholders. While the role offers remote flexibility, it requires approximately 25–30% travel in the Southwestern U.S. Residence in New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, or Nevada preferred. Key Responsibilities Lead efforts to acquire and manage surface and mineral rights in support of resource development projects Conduct in-person meetings and negotiations with landowners, ranchers, and other stakeholders Collaborate with federal agencies, including the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), on permitting and land use matters Perform title research, due diligence, and land documentation review Maintain accurate land records and support development strategy through data-driven insights Navigate complex stakeholder environments and resolve land-related challenges independently Required Qualifications Minimum 5+ years of experience in land acquisition (ideal candidates have 10–15 years ) Proven experience acquiring surface land rights within the energy, petroleum, or mining sectors Prior experience working with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Strong preference for a field-oriented mindset with a willingness to engage stakeholders face-to-face Demonstrated ability to work independently as a self-starter in a lean team environment Comfortable operating in ambiguity and executing without extensive structure or support staff Preferred Qualifications Experience with Mineral & Land Records Systems (MLRS) Familiarity with surface rights acquisition for mineral-based projects Understanding of mining operations , particularly in resource extraction industries Remote-based role with regular field travel (~20–40%) High degree of autonomy and flexibility for disciplined, results-driven professionals Opportunity to work closely with executive leadership and influence project outcomes Ideal Candidate Profile Relationship-driven and persistent in building trust with landowners Hands-on and execution-focused, not reliant on building a team to delegate work Adaptable, resourceful, and motivated by working in an entrepreneurial environment Experienced in navigating both private and public land frameworks #J-18808-Ljbffr
