RN - PCU

Registered Nurse - Mixed Acuity Unit (PCU/MS Tele)

Location: New York, NY

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Night Shift: 4x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Mixed Acuity Unit, providing care for patients in PCU and Medical/Surgical Telemetry. The ideal candidate will have recent experience in PCU/IMC within the last three years, demonstrating the ability to manage various patient complexities depending on acuity levels.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage patients diagnosed with multiple conditions requiring telemetry.
• Perform assessment and intervention for cardiac and medical telemetry patients.
• Administer medications and manage IV therapies, including titration of insulin drips.
• Provide post-operative care for surgical patients.
• Implement isolation precautions and wound care as necessary.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy and respiratory services.
• Use electronic health records (EPIC) for documentation and patient management.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• At least 1 year of recent nursing experience in PCU or IMC.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• NIHSS certification is required; PALS certification is preferred.
• Active New York state RN license required at the time of submission.
• Experience with EPIC charting system is mandatory.
