What You Will Do

• Lead and direct a field crew (210 employees) in daily operations
• Perform and oversee construction, repair, and maintenance of water and wastewater systems
• Operate heavy equipment including backhoes, loaders, and excavators
• Plan and coordinate job tasks to ensure safe and efficient completion
• Troubleshoot system issues and respond to emergency repairs
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, 811 locates, and regulatory requirements
• Train and support crew members in field operations and equipment use
• Maintain job documentation, time records, and work reports
• Participate in rotating on-call schedule for emergency response

This is a working leader role, you will lead the crew while working alongside them in the field. You are responsible for both execution and outcomes, ensuring work is completed safely, correctly, and efficiently.

What You Bring

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Texas Drivers License
• Minimum, five (5) years of experience in construction, utilities, or heavy equipment operation
• Prior leadership or crew lead experience preferred
• Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work
• Strong work ethic, accountability, and team leadership mindset

Work Environment

• This role involves outdoor, hands-on work in all weather conditions, including exposure to equipment, wastewater systems, and active construction sites. Required PPE is provided.

Additional Requirements

• Participation in on-call rotation
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and emergency response shifts
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
• Required vaccinations

Preferred Qualifications

• TCEQ Water and/or Wastewater certifications
• Experience leading crews in utility or construction environments
• Basic computer and reporting skills
