Devola Volunteer Fire Company is seeking an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician to help deliver high-quality emergency medical care and support community safety in Marietta, OH.

Position Summary

The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) provides advanced pre-hospital medical care to patients in emergency and non-emergency situations. This role requires a calm, professional approach, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to work effectively as part of an EMS and fire/rescue team.

As a part-time onsite AEMT, you will respond to calls, assess patients, administer appropriate care, and support safe transport when needed, while maintaining compliance with established protocols and documentation requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency calls and provide advanced pre-hospital assessment, treatment, and care within established protocols.

• Perform patient evaluations, including vital sign monitoring, medical history gathering, and determining appropriate levels of care.

• Administer medications and interventions as directed by clinical protocols and scope of practice.

• Coordinate with dispatch, fellow responders, and receiving facilities to ensure continuity of care.

• Maintain accurate, timely patient care documentation and communicate updates clearly.

• Maintain readiness of assigned equipment and ensure readiness for response, cleaning, and restocking as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Current certification/licensure as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) and ability to maintain required credentials.

• Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure while maintaining patient-focused professionalism.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team-based emergency response environment.

• Ability to follow established EMS protocols, safety procedures, and documentation requirements.

• Willingness to support onsite community response needs as a part-time team member.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience providing advanced pre-hospital medical care in an EMS or fire/rescue environment.

• Experience working in a high-volume call environment and maintaining quality of care during demanding situations.

• Familiarity with incident documentation expectations and clear, concise charting practices.

• Commitment to ongoing training, continuing education, and maintaining clinical readiness.

Compensation

Hourly rate: $18.50
