Construction Manager, Manufacturing Center 1

The Manufacturing Plant Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects for manufacturing plants. Responsibilities include managing budgets, timelines, and quality assurance to ensure successful completion of the projects while working closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders. Responsibilities Create and influence safety culture, serve as mentor and model, and participate in district safety committee. Provide overall leadership and support for several small or one large complex projects; accountable for safety, budget, quality, schedule, and profitability. Oversee projects to ensure construction complies with design, budget, and schedule. Lead new work by participating in pursuit/preconstruction teams to help estimate, propose, and present. Monitor design deliverables and facilitate permits, procurement, shop drawings, off‑site production, construction and commissioning; coordinate with client sign‑off. Attend design management meetings, communicate PCL needs, and raise issues for resolution. Supervise, direct, train, and mentor project team across multiple sites. Manage complex project organizational structure. Oversee and negotiate claims/disputes with owners and contractors with senior project managers. Understand, communicate, and proactively manage contract documents. Ability to travel up to 70% of the time. Qualifications Postsecondary education or training in engineering, construction management, or related discipline. 15+ years of progressive construction experience with multiple contract delivery types; leadership and mentorship preferred. 12–24 months of estimating or related experience preferred. Expert knowledge of safety and environmental principles, procedures, and legislation. In‑depth knowledge of construction industry and company operations, including materials, specifications, methods, and safety and quality practices for large, complex projects. Experience with diverse project types, delivery methods, sequencing, and timelines. Expert knowledge of construction laws, building codes, and ability to apply them. Expert knowledge of collective agreements and jurisdiction assignment for multi‑trade sites. Thorough understanding of insurance, bonding, and legal requirements. Experience leading effective project meetings with customers, consultants, and internal staff; presenting at client meetings. Ability to generate, review, and administer complex subcontracts and purchase orders, mitigating risks and identifying opportunities. Salary range: $190,000 to $240,000 per annum based on experience and qualifications. Employee status: Regular Full-Time.
