Prospective team members can learn more and explore opportunities at Role Description The School Psychologist is a full-time, on-site role based in Alexandria, VA, providing psychological services and support to students, families, and school staff. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting psychological assessments, participating in multidisciplinary team meetings, and contributing to the development of individualized education programs (IEPs). The role involves offering counseling and crisis intervention, consulting with educators and administrators on student learning and behavior, and promoting social-emotional wellness across the school community. The School Psychologist also collaborates with families and community partners, maintains accurate documentation, and ensures compliance with federal, state, and district policies and guidelines. Qualifications Strong foundation in Psychology and Mental Health to support student learning, behavior, and social-emotional development. Demonstrated experience in Counseling, including individual and group interventions and crisis response within a school setting. Proficiency in Psychological Assessment, including administering, scoring, and interpreting standardized tests and using data to inform educational planning. Understanding of Medicine as it relates to child and adolescent development, neurodevelopmental conditions, and collaboration with medical professionals. Relevant graduate degree (e.g., master’s or specialist degree in School Psychology or related field) and appropriate state licensure or certification as a School Psychologist. Knowledge of special education law, regulations, and best practices, including IEP processes and multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS). Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse, multilingual school community. Experience in urban or highly diverse school environments and commitment to educational equity is highly beneficial. #J-18808-Ljbffr
