Global Sourcing Manager - Software

Job DescriptionThis role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Warren, Michigan or Mountain View, California location three times per week, at minimum (or other frequency dictated by the business).The RoleAs a Global Sourcing Manager, you will be responsible for sourcing Technology purchases (Software, Software as a Service, Infrastructure, etc.) on a regional and global basis. You will be responsible for developing, negotiating and implementing sourcing strategies by working with key stakeholders on technology requirements, IT, Security, Privacy and Legal, which then requires preparing and completing sourcing recommendations to various levels of management.What You'll Do:Negotiate license models (or other technology models), competitive business cases, favorable and robust terms and conditions (including legal terms), and other items to complete a full contract package.Make recommendations to Stakeholders on terms and conditionsStay up to date on the IT industry and the strategic direction GM software and services is headedWork effectively cross-functionally, internally and externally, while building strong relationshipsPartner with IT and Business on strategy of supply base, technologies, products used, future products, technology roadmap, and viable suppliers for technology requirements.Work with Suppliers on governance and deliveries, including sound understanding of deadlines, required lead times, supplier contracts and application types.Active participation with key stakeholders, including Software and Services IT, the Business stakeholder s , Legal, Security and Privacy, among others.Proactively manage annual renewal cadence and deadlines to support business continuityAdhere to corporate purchasing and accounting policies and procedures.Develop and maintain benchmark data to drive a strategyUtilize GPSC Sourcing Process to manage Sourcing packages, while navigating ambiguous situations.Utilize Global Purchasing and Supply Chain sourcing process to manage sourcing packages.Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)2+ years of relevant experience in purchasing (any internship or co-op experience will not be considered)Ability to negotiate through complex and/or ambiguous situations, while working independentlyProject management, managing multiple projects/assignments simultaneously, and prioritizing requestsProficient communication skillsAbility to learn about items being purchased without having previous knowledge of the productAnalytical skills, including the ability to do in-depth benchmarkingAppropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goalsKnowledge of computer software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Research)SAP experience or ability to learn purchasing systemsMust be willing to travel 5% of the time domestically + InternationallyWhat Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)Understanding of Legal and Commercial Terms and Conditions with the ability to negotiate and assess riskExperience with IT, Technology or SoftwareCompensation:The salary range for this role is $95,200 - $126,500.
