Maintenance Tech IThe maintenance tech I uses science, engineering, and mathematic principles to solve technical problems in research and development, manufacturing, inspection and maintenance. The maintenance tech I may assist colleagues in research and development and work in quality control, inspecting products and processes, conducting tests, or collecting data. In this role, the maintenance tech may assist in product design, development, or production.Job ResponsibilitiesResponsible for maintaining facility and related equipment in focus area.Install, modify and repair manufacturing machines and equipment, plant support equipment, facility structure and grounds.Troubleshoot maintenance and process problems and developing preventive/corrective actions, as needed.Support manufacturing to achieve safety, productivity and quality targets and support Kaizen initiatives.Must maintain and improve 5S (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain) and TPM (total productive maintenance) activities.Support equipment downtime reduction initiatives.Work with others in a team environment.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsGood hand-eye coordination requiredMust interact positively and effectively with co-workers, subordinates, and supervisorsEnough physical ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs. repeatedly); standing and walking for prolonged periods of time; climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, working overhead and operating motorized equipment.Strong technical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently without supervision.Flexibility to handle multiple and changing priorities.Education and experience:High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) required.3 years minimum electrical and/or mechanical experience working in a manufacturing environment with hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanics required.Basic computer skills required, including Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint and Excel).Welding and fabrication experience, preferred.Welding and/or electrical certification preferred.Work environment:80 - 100% of your time is on the manufacturing facility floor. This position requires employee to frequently work in a fluid, fast paced environment.
