Senior Project Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Superintendent to lead the field execution of complex construction projects from mobilisation through completion. This role will be responsible for coordinating site operations, maintaining a safe and productive work environment, and ensuring that projects are delivered in accordance with approved plans, specifications, schedules, budgets, and quality standards. The successful candidate will provide visible leadership on site and serve as a key point of coordination between project management, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, inspectors, and the client's representatives.

Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining short-term and detailed construction schedules; planning labour, equipment, materials, and site logistics; supervising subcontractor performance; reviewing drawings and identifying potential conflicts or constructability issues; and monitoring progress against project milestones. You will lead daily coordination meetings, verify completed work, support inspections and testing, manage site documentation, and ensure that deficiencies are identified and resolved promptly. The role will also require proactive risk management, accurate reporting, effective change coordination, and close collaboration with project managers to address commercial, technical, and operational matters.

Applicants should have substantial experience supervising major construction projects, with a strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, safety legislation, quality assurance, and contract requirements. A relevant trade qualification, construction management qualification, or equivalent practical experience is preferred. You will need proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams, managing subcontractors, interpreting technical documentation, and delivering projects under demanding time and budget constraints. Strong communication, organisation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are essential, together with the confidence to hold teams accountable and maintain high standards. The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced site environment, adapt to changing priorities, and promote a respectful, inclusive workplace will be highly valued.
