Project AccountantA growing and well-established General Contractor is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join its team. This individual will play a key role in supporting project financial operations by managing billing, accounts payable, project documentation, and subcontractor compliance. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment while collaborating closely with Project Managers, vendors, subcontractors, and the accounting team.ResponsibilitiesPrepare and submit progress billings and owner invoices in accordance with contract requirementsProcess AIA billings and maintain supporting documentationTrack accounts receivable activity and assist with collection efforts as neededEnsure invoices and billings are completed accurately and submitted within required deadlinesReview and process subcontractor and vendor invoices for paymentVerify cost coding and ensure proper approvals are obtainedMaintain subcontractor compliance records, including Certificates of Insurance, W-9s, and lien waiversRespond to vendor and subcontractor inquiries regarding payments and account statusWork closely with Project Managers and accounting personnel to support project successCommunicate professionally with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal team membersAssist with process improvements and help maintain consistency across project accounting functionsProvide timely support for project-related financial inquiriesQualificationsPrevious experience in project accounting, construction accounting, or a related accounting roleKnowledge of construction billing processes, including AIA billing preferredUnderstanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, lien waivers, and subcontractor compliance documentationStrong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detailProficiency in accounting and construction management softwareAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and interpersonal skillsCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive compensation based on experienceComprehensive benefits packageStable pipeline of work with a reputable contractorOpportunity for long-term growth and advancementIf you are looking to join a collaborative team and play a critical role in the financial success of construction projects, we encourage you to apply.
