Description: Average daily census is 19. The unit has 25 beds. Weekend coverage is every other week. Locals accepted must be over 50 miles away. Unit does not accept first-time travelers. Patient diagnoses include CHF, pneumonia, observation rule out for chest pain, syncope, diverticulitis, cellulitis, COPD, ETOH withdrawal, opiate withdrawal, and debility. Special procedures include serving swing bed, detox, and medical patients. Bariatric equipment is rented when needed. RN ratio on the inpatient unit is 1:6 during the day and 1:7 at night with LPN support for medication pass and/or to take ALC/swing bed assignments. The majority of the census consists of subacute clients requiring rehab for debility, wound care, and long-term IV antibiotics. No formal dress code is enforced, but scrubs are required. Interdisciplinary support includes Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Unit Secretary. Candidates will float as needed. Charting experience in EPIC is a hard requirement. The background policy is reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Return staff must wait six months before reapplying. Modules for training may vary by specialty. Total module time may reach up to 10 hours, with the first 5 hours billable. Submission requires valid experience and necessary certifications and licenses.
