Clinical Lab Technician 7500 #13518- Internal Job #: 13518 Job Category: Laboratory Shift Type: Variable Pay Range: $31.84/hr - $42.79/hr Open Date: 03.10.26 Open Until Filled. Job Summary Performs specified medical laboratory tests, procedures and analyses under the direct and constant supervision of a licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist. Qualifications High School Graduate or Equivalent Applicable bachelor’s degree preferred Previous Lab experience and/or medical background preferred Duties & Responsibilities Have documentation of training appropriate to ensure that the individual has all of the following skills and abilities: The skills required for labeling, handling, preservation or fixation, processing or preparation, and transportation and storage of specimens The skills required for assisting the Licensed Clinical Scientist, including: Evaluating specimen integrity Processing and loading of specimen on instrumentation Transcribing results from printouts The skills required for performing preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting A working knowledge of reagent stability and storage The skills required for assisting and performance of quality control procedures, and an understanding of the quality control policies of the laboratory An awareness of factors that influence test results Specific tasks in the laboratory include, and are limited to, (providing there is documentation of training): General operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the following chemistry analyzers: Beckman LX20 Abbott AXSYM Beckman ACCESS Beckman IMMAGE Stratus Dupont NKLI Precision Osmette Beckman ultracentrifuge TOSOH 2.2 General operation of other laboratory analyzers, including and limited to, (providing there is documentation of training): Beckman GENS Beckman Electra1400C Cliniteck Atlas Performs other duties as assigned Job Limitations As unlicensed personnel, the technician should be aware of those tasks that shall not be performed, including: Accepting any results in the LIS and / or reporting verbally any results which have not already been approved and accepted (in LIS) by the CLS Perform any test or part thereof that involves the quantitative measurement of the specimen or test reagent, or any mathematical calculation relative to determining the results of or the validity of a test procedure Perform any phase of test in the specialty of blood bank beyond initial collection and centrifugation In the case of qualitative and semi-quantitative “spot, tablet, or stick” tests, the personnel may add the reagent to the specimen or vice versa, but the results must be read by the CLS In using electronic instruments, the unlicensed personnel shall not: Standardize or calibrate the instrument or assess its performance by monitoring results of appropriate standards and control Read or record test results, or accept in the LIS, except that the personnel may transcribe results that have been previously recorded automatically by a testing instrument Quantitatively measure any sample or reagents unless done automatically by the instrument, in the course of its normal operation or by the use of previously calibrated and approved automatic syringes or other dispensers Lifting Requirements Sedentary- generally lifting not more than 10 lbs. maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as ledgers, files and small items. #J-18808-Ljbffr
