Part-Time Physical Therapist

Job Summary Delivers high-quality physical therapy services with minimal supervision, following physical therapy principles and company policies. Develops treatment plans, supervises assistants and aides, supports case management, ensures excellent patient care, and builds strong, positive relationships with facilities, clients, and staff to enhance collaboration and service growth.

Essential Functions

• Comply with state Practice Act and supervision laws for physical therapists.
• Review company Clinical Operations Policies & Procedures Manual annually and follow all policies.
• Complete required Medicare compliance training.
• Complete annual OSHA training and adhere to OSHA and other governmental standards.
• Evaluate patients, determine medical necessity, and provide skilled treatment; document need clearly.
• Maintain ongoing documentation of goals, progress, and medical necessity.
• Complete documentation (evaluations, daily notes, reports, charges, pre-certifications) accurately, legibly, and on time to meet deadlines.
• Communicate openly and respectfully with team members, physicians, patients, families, and payers.
• Attend facility meetings as directed (utilization review, infection control, disaster preparedness, etc.).
• Complete continuing education to meet state licensure requirements.
• Maintain current CPR certification per state standards.

Additional Responsibilities

• Manage time to meet facility productivity goals.
• Participate in and present clinical in-services as assigned.
• Stay informed on healthcare trends and physical therapy issues.
• Lead specific center operations as agreed with Center Manager.
• Perform other duties or projects as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift/transfer patients using proper techniques; independently lift up to 50 pounds.
• Constantly walk, bend, stand, reach, and squat during shift.
• Adequate near/far visual acuity to assess patients, maintain records, and follow directions.
• Sufficient hearing and speech to understand and give instructions.
• Ability to push wheeled equipment in facility and community.
• Fine motor skills for accurate documentation and handling of equipment.

Required Credentials:
• Graduation from a physical therapist education program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) or, in the case of an internationally educated physical therapist, from a non-CAPTE accredited program seeking licensure as a physical therapist, a substantially equivalent education.
