Apply today!FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE including 4 10-hour shifts and 5 8-hour shifts with flexible start times!STARTING SALARY RANGE: $24 to $28/hourBENEFITS and Perks: Medical, Dental, & Vision Insurance; HSA/FSA options, Accident & Critical Illness Insurance; Short- and Long-Term Disability; 401(k) with Employer Match; Term Life Insurance; Employee Assistance Program; Employee-of-the-Month and Year, Onsite Welding Training and Certifications; RITALKA University; Employee Luncheons; Company Picnic; Community VolunteeringAs a Fabrication and Machinist Lead, your primary responsibility is the daily supervision of all fabrication operations within the given facility.What does the Fabrication and Machinist Lead do at SpecSys?Provide daily work directions to fabrication personnelDeveloping employee performance review documentationDocumenting any workplace related injuries and communicating with Safety DirectorCoordinate orders with management and purchasing department for steel / shop suppliesAccurately schedule, and expedite the use of labor, machines, and materials in the fabrication of parts.Identify machine run speeds for accurate scheduling of material fabrication.Communicate accurate parts sequences with shop personnel.Ensure that quality control processes are followed during the various stages of fabrication.Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints to ensure products are fabricated correctlyAbility to understand and willingness to follow existing QC processesCoordinate equipment repairs as neededAdhere to established department budgets for toolingProvide input into fabrication and QC process improvementsFollow guidelines to arrange objects or actions in a certain orderInstall equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.Operate and control equipment. Inspect and evaluate the quality of productsRepair machines or systemsDetailed knowledge of CNC/NC programming and understanding of geometric tolerancesUnderstanding of computer software such as MS-Word and ExcelEmployee HR approvalsWhat are we looking for in a great Fabrication and Machinist Lead? Accurately reads/interprets blueprints that may include mechanical connections/joints, mechanical assembly prints, hydraulic/pneumatic schematics, electrical wiring diagramsUnderstanding of and the willingness to follow work order instructions, including signing-off of fabrication department dispatchesDetailed knowledge of CNC/NC ProgrammingCan design and constructHas good communication and problem solving skillsIs comfortable communicating with management and Human ResourcesIs able to lift up to 50 lbs.Is able to bend, crawl and be on feet for 8 plus hours per work dayHas any combination of education and experience that would provide the required skill and knowledge for successful performanceMany tasks include their own work and/or the review of work of others in the department.
