ABOUT DRAGONFLY CARES
Dragonfly Cares is a mission-driven organization dedicated to helping children with autism and developmental differences thrive. We deliver high-quality Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy where it matters most: in homes, centers, schools, and communities across Long Island. Our team of compassionate professionals are united by one goal: meaningful progress for every child and family we serve.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Lead BCBA in Melville is a licensed and BACB-certified behavior analyst whose day-to-day presence anchors the Melville center's daytime clinical operations. This role blends BCBA supervision, clinical leadership, center oversight, and, as the role develops, primary coordination of the Melville Bridge program.
The Lead BCBA will maintain a billable caseload while serving as a senior daytime clinical presence for the center. This individual will provide live support to Behavior Technicians and RBTs, ensure clinical programming is implemented with fidelity, support staff with clinical problem-solving, and safeguard the quality of care provided to all center-based clients.
The Lead BCBA will work closely with a fellow Lead BCBA at the Melville location, report clinically to the Clinical Director, and report operationally to the COO. As the role develops, the Lead BCBA will assume increasing responsibility for the continuity and coordination of Bridge students transitioning into center-based services. This includes collaborating with the School Clinical Director on referral, intake, enrollment, and transition planning to ensure students and families receive consistent clinical and operational support.
ABOUT THE BRIDGE PROGRAM
Dragonfly Cares' Bridge Program supports clients who are currently without a school placement. The program provides individualized ABA services focused on developing the executive functioning, behavioral, communication, social, and adaptive skills needed to successfully transition back into a school setting.
The Bridge Program works collaboratively with families, clinical teams, and school districts to help prepare clients for their next educational placement. As students develop the skills necessary to return to school, the program supports a coordinated transition and continuity of care.
WHAT YOU'LL DO CLINICALLY
- Maintain and supervise a clinically appropriate billable caseload.
- Design, monitor, and revise behavior intervention plans, skill acquisition programs, and individualized treatment plans.
- Analyze client data and make data-driven clinical decisions.
- Ensure programming is individualized, clinically appropriate, and implemented with fidelity.
- Provide live, in-session clinical support to Behavior Technicians and RBTs during Melville daytime hours.
- Monitor treatment integrity and provide real-time feedback and coaching to direct-care staff.
- Respond to clinical concerns and assist staff with behavioral problem-solving.
- Conduct assessments and utilize assessment results to inform individualized programming.
- Maintain high-quality clinical documentation, including session notes, treatment plans, BIPs, supervision notes, and related documentation in Passage Health.
- Ensure clinical services and documentation remain compliant with BACB ethical standards, New York State requirements, payer requirements, HIPAA, and Dragonfly Cares policies and procedures.
WHAT YOU'LL DO FOR LEADERSHIP & SUPERVISION
- Schedule and provide RBT/BT supervision in accordance with Dragonfly Cares and BACB supervision standards.
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to BCBAs, RBTs, and Behavior Technicians.
- Support newer clinical staff with programming, behavior management, data analysis, and clinical decision-making.
- Promote consistency in clinical practices and service delivery across the Melville center.
- Participate in clinical team meetings and collaborate with other BCBAs and clinical leadership.
- Assist with onboarding, training, and ongoing development of clinical staff as needed.
- Identify clinical concerns proactively and communicate significant concerns to the Clinical Director.
- Help ensure the center maintains a high standard of clinical quality and treatment integrity.
- Serve as the senior daytime clinical presence on-site.
- Open the center on assigned days and help ensure the daytime program is prepared for clients and staff.
- Maintain awareness of day-to-day clinical needs and assist in resolving issues that arise during center operations.
- Collaborate with center and operational leadership to address clinical and operational needs.
- Help ensure sessions begin and operate as scheduled and that staff have the support necessary to provide quality services.
- Serve as a point of contact for clinical questions and concerns that arise during daytime center operations.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and assist with identifying opportunities to improve center-based services.
As the role develops, the Lead BCBA will assume increasing responsibility as the primary center-based point of continuity for students participating in the Bridge Program
Responsibilities may include:
- Collaborating with the School Clinical Director regarding referrals, intake, enrollment, and transition planning.
- Reviewing relevant clinical and educational information prior to a student's transition.
- Supporting the development and implementation of appropriate programming upon enrollment.
- Coordinating with school teams, families, and clinical staff to promote continuity of care.
