Registered Nurse PRNThe Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Registered Nurse PRN in the Admissions Unit, at Georgia Regional Hospital - Atlanta, located in Decatur, GA.Shifts Available7:00 AM – 3:30 PMJob Description:Assess client health problems and needs, address current and immediate.Complete vital signs and document.Review and determine the immediate needs i.e. current medications and treatments.Evaluate and notify doctor/Psychiatrist for evaluation and implementation of obtain of orders.Administer medications as needed.Administer nursing care to patients as needed or required.May advise clients on health maintenance and disease prevention and refer to Social Service within the Admission are as needed.Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards:Administers prescribed medications and notes times and amounts on clients' chartsMaintains accurate, detailed reports and client recordsMonitors all aspects of client care, including diet.Monitors, records and reports symptoms and changes in clients' conditionsPrepares clients for, and assists with, examinations and treatmentsPrepares rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies, and ensures that stock of supplies is maintainedProvides education to clientProvides health care, first aid.Technical Competencies:Ability to assess, plan for, and provide basic nursing skills; knows procedures including developing, implementing and revising plan of careKnowledge of nursing policies, procedures, protocols, treatments, standards of care and nurse practice actKnowledge of the procedures for medication administration and can administer oral, sublingual and IM medications; knowledge of pharmacologyAbility to perform CPR and for some sites, AED.Minimum Qualifications:Equal Employment Opportunity EmployerThe State of Georgia does not discriminate based on race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, disability, or other protected categories in employment or the provision of services.
