Candidates must be licensed and certified in the State of AZ. Purpose of the Position: To assess students' speech-language development skills (e.g. receptive/expressive language skills, speech production skills, social language skills development, etc.) and interpret results to determine in their need for special education services. To help students meet their goals related to speech-language development. Develops speech-language therapy programs and provides direct therapy to students under their individualized plans. Provides consultation to classroom teachers, administrators, and parents. Reviews and maintains speech-language files and related paperwork to ensure compliance with laws and regulations. Participates in meetings, workshops, and seminars to convey and/or gather information required to perform functions. Prepares a wide variety of written materials (e.g. evaluation reports, individualized treatment plans, student data, billing records, and progress reports) to document activities, providing written references and/or conveying information to others. Presents information about students and/or programs to a variety of audiences including families, colleagues, and outside agencies. Researches resources and methods (e.g. intervention and treatment techniques, assessment tools and methods, community resources, etc.) to determine the appropriate approach for addressing students' goals. May be required to supervise SLPA. Minimum Skills or Qualifications: Education: Master’s degree Hold a valid SLP/ SLT license in the state of Arizona Hold a valid AZ Department of Education SLP/SLT certification Hold a current AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card Hold current CPR certification Maintain Continuing Education requirements, as per AZDHS ( ASHA CCC's Preferred Work Environment and Physical Demands: Occasional exposure to dust, pollen, and fumes Requires frequent reaching, handling, sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, running, carrying, and lifting 50 or more lbs. Must be able to see and hear within normal range with or without correction.
