Job Title Program Support Assistant Duties Duties and skills needed to be successful in this position include, but are not limited to: Enrolls and/or facilitates the process of the enrollment of veterans and/or their family members into the Eastern Colorado Health Care System Councils veterans, their dependents, and their beneficiaries regarding all benefits available through the Department of Veterans Affairs, as well as non-VA benefits available through other agencies. Responsible for entering personal demographics, health care insurance and income verification into the Enrollment System and other systems as required. Explains the types of documents necessary to facilitate timely processing of claims and provides assistance. Directly involved in Patient Business Office activities, beneficiary travel, correspondence, decedent affairs, eligibility, medical information, and patient care services to include facility admissions and death cases. Supports the clerical and medical staff by serving as a direct contact for veterans and beneficiaries seeking medical treatment, experiencing problems and requesting information. Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
