Overview Hospital Manager — PetVax Complete Care Centers Cordova. Join our team to develop an efficient hospital support team by fostering trust, teamwork, and accountability. The Hospital Manager partners with the Veterinarian to drive a profitable operation, manage costs, and create a hospital culture based on high-quality patient care and excellent customer service. PetVax Complete Care Centers Cordova, located in Cordova, TN, is part of a trusted network serving Memphis and surrounding communities. Our experienced team offers wellness exams, vaccinations, dental care, diagnostics, surgery, emergency care, and geriatric medicine with a compassionate, personalized approach. Key Responsibilities Supervise staff within all hospital support departments; achieve and maintain labor goals. Hire and train office and clinical support staff; manage new hire paperwork. Orient and train new clinic staff on hospital duties. Review work performance of direct reports; provide feedback; resolve personnel issues with the Regional Manager weekly. Conduct timely performance appraisals. Document and report accidents; file appropriate reports. Write policies and procedures related to hospital technical aspects and present for approval. Manage schedules for technical and administrative staff; coordinate with the DVM. Monitor Workforce Management for missed punches and overtime hours daily. Administer daily operations and ensure compliance with administrative responsibilities across the organization. Monitor budgets, oversee procurement of equipment and supplies, and manage facility maintenance. Submit contract veterinarian invoices, vendor invoices, ensure invoice accuracy, and obtain W-9 forms from local vendors. Assist in resolving issues with pet owners where appropriate. Review revenue, labor, and employee issues with PetVet leadership on a weekly conference call; achieve goals in each area. Oversee local accounting functions and ensure daily financial information is accurate. Oversee inventory management with proper documentation and systems in place. May establish and oversee billing practices; maintain billing accuracy and charge capture. May be responsible for contracts or negotiations with insurance providers. Maintain compliance of current licensure and the display of the same; maintain licenses for DVMs. Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager. Qualifications (Required) Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Bachelor’s degree in business, health science, or related field strongly preferred. At least five years of direct office management experience, including two years of supervisory experience. May consider an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience. Ability to provide courteous, prompt, and efficient customer service. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and applicable software. Establish and maintain productive and cooperative working relationships. Time management and organizational skills to complete work promptly. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Flexibility to work some weekends and holidays. Ability to work with or around sick animals, hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, anesthetics, zoonotic diseases, and odors. Physical requirements: some tasks involve extended periods at a keyboard or standing/walking; may include climbing or lifting up to 50 pounds. Other duties as assigned by management. Preferred Skills Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) or Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) preferred. Analytical skills for hospital finances; strategic planning for forecasting, marketing, and growth. Leadership and decision-making abilities to manage and direct hospital staff. Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Resourcefulness, adaptability, and compliance with regulations. Planning and prioritizing to organize work effectively.
