Comprehensive Therapy Consultants is seeking an experienced School-Based Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to serve students in Flagler County Schools, Florida .

School-based PTA experience is strongly preferred for this position. We are looking for a PTA who understands that working in a school setting is different from working in a traditional medical or outpatient environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable supporting students' functional mobility and access to their educational environment while working collaboratively with supervising Physical Therapists, teachers, special education staff, and other related-service professionals.

Responsibilities

As a School-Based PTA, you will:

• Provide physical therapy interventions to students under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Implement established plans of care and IEP-related physical therapy services.
• Work with students on functional mobility, positioning, transfers, balance, strength, coordination, and access to the educational environment.
• Assist students with safe participation in classroom routines and other school activities.
• Collaborate with Physical Therapists, teachers, paraprofessionals, families, and other members of the student's educational team.
• Monitor student performance and communicate progress and concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Maintain accurate and timely treatment documentation and service records.
• Follow student IEPs, district procedures, and applicable state and federal requirements.
• Assist with equipment, positioning, mobility devices, and environmental modifications as directed by the supervising PT.
• Travel between assigned school locations when required.

What We're Looking For

School-based PTA experience is highly preferred.

Qualified candidates should have:

• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current or eligible Florida Physical Therapist Assistant license .
• Previous experience working as a PTA in a school-based setting .
• Understanding of the PTA's role within the educational model of physical therapy.
• Experience working with children with a variety of physical, developmental, and educational needs.
• Ability to work effectively under the direction and supervision of a Physical Therapist.
• Strong communication, documentation, organization, and time-management skills.
• Ability to collaborate successfully with multidisciplinary school teams.
• A desire to bring life-giving excellence to school-aged children.
