Location Robinson, IL Position Type Hourly Sign On Bonus $4,000 Summary The Hershey Company Robinson plant is a non‑union plant producing products such as PayDay, Heath, Skor, Milk Duds, Whoppers, Reese’s Pieces, Zero, Brookside Fruit Crunchy, and Scharffen Berger in a high‑speed manufacturing environment. Maintenance technicians are skilled in electrical, mechanical, or utility maintenance, and their primary role is to maintain and optimize manufacturing equipment and systems. Pay Starting pay rate: $29.33–31.47 per hour, determined by written mechanical skills assessment score $1.00 additional shift premium for working 2nd or 3rd shift hours OT potential Manufacturing Incentive Plan eligible Total Rewards Health Insurance (Medical, Dental, & Vision)— Starting Day 1 401(k) Retirement Plan – company match Hershey Stock Purchase Program Tuition Reimbursement Life Insurance and Short‑Term Disability Shifts Flexible to work any shift, weekends, overtime, and holidays Currently hiring for weekend nights (Thursday to Sunday 6 PM to 6 AM) Schedule assignments determined by plant needs and discussed during interview Candidate Process 60‑minute onsite interview and 3‑hour written mechanical skills assessment Post‑offer drug screen and background check required Essential Duties and Responsibilities Electrical Plan layout of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures per specifications and local codes Install control and distribution apparatus such as switches, outlets, relays, and circuit‑breaker panels Connect wiring to circuit breakers, transformers, lighting fixtures, thermostats, intercoms, signaling systems, and power equipment Check circuit connections to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components Diagnose and repair or replace malfunctioning apparatus and components (e.g., transformers, circuit breakers, fuses, motors, generators, fixtures) Mechanical Maintain machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories; check stock levels, anticipate needs, place and expedite orders, and verify receipt Minimum Qualifications At least 18 years of age Flexible to work all shifts (8, 10, or 12 hour) and available for weekends, holidays, and overtime Able to lift up to 50 lbs Authorized to work in the United States Pass both written and practical NOCTI exam in the respective discipline Basic understanding of PCs and computer skills Preferred Qualifications Food manufacturing experience Experience with Safe Quality Food (SQF) practices Experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Experience with Autonomous Maintenance (AM) Experience with Single‑Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) Experience with Continuous Improvement methodology 1–2 years hands‑on electrical or mechanical work in manufacturing systems The Hershey Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
