Certified Nursing Assistant

Pay Rate: $25 / hour
Details
- Full time schedules
- Some weekends may be required
- 8 or 12 hour shifts available depending on the facility
- Contract position (flexible with shift availability is a plus)
- Mon-Thurs 7:00a-5:30p
Duties
- Answer patients' calls and determine how to assist them.
- Measure and record patients' vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration, urine intake and output, and food intake and output, reporting any drastic changes to a nurse or physician.
- Provide basic patient care and treatments, such as feeding, changing soiled garments and giving massages.
- Help patients with bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, moving in bed, standing, and walking.
- Reposition and turn bed bound patients; assist those who need help walking or assistance transporting in wheelchairs.
- Provide patients comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients' call lights and requests; and reporting observations of the patient to nursing staff.
- Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
- Protects organization's value by keeping patient information confidential.
- Serves and protects the facility by adhering to professional standards, facility policies and procedures; federal, state, and local requirements; and JCAHO standards, where applicable.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and maintaining certification.
- Work as part of a healthcare team to assess patient needs, plan and modify care.
- Serve food trays and examine them for conformance to prescribed diet.
- Apply compresses, ice bags and hot water bottles as directed by nursing supervisor.
- Keep rooms clean and change soiled bedding and bedpans.
- Transport medical equipment in and out of rooms according to patient requirements.
- Inventory and requisition supplies.
- Make appointments, keep records and perform other clerical duties in doctors' offices and clinics.
- Maintains compliance and complies with annual requirements
- Successfully completes required employment-related documentation, testing, and screenings in a timely manner
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited educational institution
- Licensed as a Certified Nursing Assistant by the State in VA. The license MUST be in good standing
- 1 year of experience
