Position Overview

A well-established, family-owned contractor with over 75 years of success in the Colorado Springs market is seeking an experienced underground utilities Heavy Equipment Operator to join their team. Key Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment, including loaders and excavators, in a utilities construction environment
• Perform excavation, grading, and material handling tasks safely and efficiently
• Work as part of a unified crew handling both dirt work and utilities installation
• Follow all site safety standards and maintain equipment awareness

Equipment

• Primary equipment includes Hitachi and John Deere
• Additional equipment: Caterpillar (CAT) and Komatsu
• Fleet consists mostly of newer equipment (limited GPS currently, with planned upgrades)

Qualifications

Required:

• Experience operating heavy equipment such as loaders and excavators for underground utilities installation projects
• Proven experience in heavy equipment operation within a construction setting

Preferred:

• Experience with John Deere 470 Excavator or 624 Loader
• Familiarity with major equipment brands (John Deere, Hitachi, CAT, Komatsu)

Work Environment

• Outdoor commercial construction sites
• Typical start time around 6:30 AM (may vary by project)

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Colorado Springs, CO.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
