St. Clair Eye is seeking a dependable, organized, and people-focused Medical Clinic Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our private optometry practice. This role is responsible for supporting our team, maintaining efficient office operations, coordinating vendors and insurance needs, and helping ensure an exceptional patient experience.

The ideal candidate is someone who takes initiative, communicates well, enjoys working with people, and can confidently manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of professionalism.

Areas of Responsibilities

Office Operations & Compliance

• Oversee daily office operations and ensure the practice remains organized, efficient, and welcoming
• Help ensure the office follows applicable healthcare, privacy, safety, and practice requirements
• Maintain office procedures, standards, and required documentation
• Support HIPAA and patient privacy standards

Team Leadership & Support

• Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and support to staff
• Communicate expectations and office updates while fostering a positive, collaborative team environment
• Address staff concerns and support training and professional development

Patient Experience

• Help ensure patients receive a welcoming, professional, and exceptional experience
• Assist with patient concerns and service issues, working toward appropriate resolutions
• Lead by example in communication, professionalism, and patient service

Insurance

• Oversee day-to-day insurance processes, including verification, claims, and follow-up on outstanding or unresolved claims
• Communicate with insurance companies to resolve questions or issues and stay informed of changes affecting the practice
• Ensure staff follow established insurance and billing procedures

Product Management

• Coordinate product orders, deliveries, service calls, and vendor visits
• Monitor and order eyeglass frames, optical products, and contact lenses
• Track outstanding orders, verify incoming products, and address discrepancies or issues

 

Qualifications

• Previous experience in office management, healthcare administration, optical management, or a related leadership role preferred
• Familiarity with medical and/or vision insurance processes
• Experience with vendor management and product ordering
• Optical or contact lens experience preferred
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
• Ability to lead and support a team while maintaining professional boundaries
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
• Comfortable handling confidential information
• Proficient with computers and able to learn practice management and optical software
