Job Title: Senior Estimator Location: Chesapeake, Norfolk, or Virginia Beach (Virginia) Contract length: Direct Hire Pay: Compensation discussions are handled directly with qualified candidates during the interview process. You can assume market pay for these roles and our base and bonus compensation package will meet the requirements.Senior EstimatorBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field, and 7 years of direct project estimating experience requiredApplicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.Ability to work independently or in groups, think creatively and analytically, and make quick and sound decisionsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExpert with Microsoft Office, ConEst and K-baseOSHA 10-hour certification requiredSenior EstimatorLead estimating strategy and implementation effortsReview and approve project summary schedules for validityManage workload scheduling to ensure timely completion of deliverablesLead risk review processResponsible for compliance with estimating methodology insuring quality estimates are producedLead project team review for estimating quantities and scope of projectResponsible for reviewing and approving quotes on bonds and insuranceReview and approve small and disadvantaged business solicitation and evaluationsLead subcontractor solicitation and pre-qualification reviewsResponsible for reviewing and approving specialty and standard equipment pricingReview and verify subcontractor bid packages before being transmitted for quotesPresent the estimate to internal and external clientsResponsible for the review of final estimate before management review and proposal presentationLead estimating teams for completion of pre-construction servicesResponsible for cost history, data base management and estimating processApprove price general conditions, indirect costs and review as provided by project management teamMake final recommendations as to fee, contingency and escalationProvide man hour quotes for required estimating effortDevelop strategy on contract partnering agreementsPrepare and present estimating data for risk review processVerify and approve estimates for joint venture reviewsReview commercial terms and conditions and address risk issuesReview and validate value engineering items, alternates and optionsResponsible for the accuracy and validity of estimate clarifications and assumptionsReview documents for gaps and overlaps in scope of workTrain and mentor staffPerforms other duties as assignedComplies with all policies and standards
