As Finance Manager, you will lead day‑to‑day accounting and financial reporting operations, oversee audits, grant compliance, treasury, and payroll, and develop a team of finance professionals within a highly regulated environment that demands both technical rigor and genuine commitment to public service. Relevant experience in governmental, nonprofit, housing, or other regulated finance environments speaks louder here than credentials alone. Key Responsibilities Manage the organization's day‑to‑day accounting and financial reporting activities with accuracy, timeliness, and full compliance with applicable standards. Ensure compliance with GAAP, GASB, and governmental financial reporting requirements across all programs and funding sources. Oversee audits, internal controls, and grant compliance; serve as the primary financial accountability point for external reviewers and regulators. Lead annual budgeting and long‑term financial planning processes in partnership with organizational leadership. Oversee treasury and payroll functions, ensuring accuracy and proper controls across both areas. Monitor financial performance across the portfolio, identify opportunities for improvement, and communicate findings clearly to leadership. Partner with leaders across the organization to promote financial transparency, accountability, and informed decision‑making. Lead, develop, and support a team of three to four finance professionals. Requirements Degree not required. Full‑cycle accounting and financial reporting experience. Experience in a highly regulated environment (government, nonprofit, grant‑funded, or housing authority background). Knowledge of GAAP and governmental accounting standards (GASB); familiarity with grant and investor reporting requirements. Proven team leadership experience. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. The ability to translate complex financial information into clear decisions for non‑finance stakeholders. Detail‑oriented and comfortable diving deep into financial reporting and portfolio‑level analysis. Experience with property management or government‑focused financial reporting software.
