First Steps 4K Assistant Teacher

Crescent Child Development Center, LLC (SC#25287) is looking for an exceptional and dedicated First Steps 4K Teaching Assistant who wants to make a difference in the lives of children and their families! Crescent Child Development Center's mission is to provide an innovative and inclusive learning environment that supports each child's unique abilities and interests.

We are committed to excellence and facilitating the growth and development of both staff and students. Our focus is to provide an accessible, high-quality, and developmentally appropriate educational

experience that promotes social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development for children 6 weeks and older in a nurturing environment. Our instruction focuses on language and communication development through participation in exploration, play and socialization opportunities, activities of daily living, and evidence-based curriculum activities.

The 4K First Steps Assistant Teacher is responsible for working with the Lead Teacher in implementing the Creative Curriculum, working with the 4K First Steps Coach, assisting with weekly individualized lesson plans and parent engagement activities, assisting wth completing checkpoints for students across domains, assisting with providing age-appropriate instruction, assisting with managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom, assisting with maintaining children's hygiene, assisting with monitoring children for health, behavioral, and emotional concerns, assisting with working with parents to ensure that children are learning and socializing in a positive way, assisting with serving meals, and teaching school readiness skills. The Assistant Teacher assists with ensuring a safe and stimulating classroom environment and actively engage, encourage, care for and nurture preschool students.

First Steps 4K Class Ratio at Crescent is 2 teachers to 17 Students.

First Step 4K Training is required throughout the year in-person and online. All required training time is paid for by the Center and includes a 4K stipend.

Crescent offers competitive hourly wages, 40 hours of accrued PTO for sick/personal days, a 2 week paid winter holiday, a1-week paid summer vacation other paid holidays throughout the year for employees in good standing. 

Shift time is to be decided based on candidate and Center needs. Shifts are M-F with a one hour lunch break.

Requirements:

The First Steps 4K Assistant Teacher role in South Carolina requires a high school diploma (or equivalent), documented experience working with children under five, and completion of (or enrollment in) an ECD 101 course. This course is currently offered online through Trident Technical College at no cost. Crescent also proudly supports the TEACH Pprogram.

1. Must be proficient with computers.
2. Have reliable transportation.

2. Be 18 years of age.
3. Provide a clear TB Test and required health screenings.
4. Must clear state and federal background checks and pass a health screening.
5. Have an issued form of identification

CDA, Early Childhood Credential, Associate's Degree

Hourly pay is commensurate with related experience, training, and education.
