Work Environment\nThis remote position allows for flexibility while working within our collaborative outpatient office framework. You will engage primarily with clients through virtual counseling sessions, offering both individual and group therapy. Although the role is largely remote, you may also have opportunities to meet clients in person when deemed necessary. The standard work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts to meet the needs of your clients.

- Conduct thorough assessments of clients' needs, goals, and mental health status to inform treatment planning. \n
- Develop tailored treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based therapeutic approaches, particularly motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy. \n
- Facilitate engaging individual counseling sessions focused on addiction recovery and personal development. \n
- Lead group therapy sessions, fostering a safe space for clients to share their experiences and support each other in their recovery journeys. \n
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and addiction specialists, to ensure holistic and coordinated care. \n
- Provide crisis intervention and urgent support during substance-related emergencies or critical situations. \n
- Educate clients and their families about addiction, coping mechanisms, and available community resources to enhance their recovery experience. \n
- Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation of patient progress, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical guidelines. \n
- Engage actively in team meetings and case consultations, contributing insights and sharing best practices. \n
- Continuously update your knowledge of the latest research and treatment advancements in the field of substance use disorders. \n
As a Mental Health Counselor at Regency Mental Healthcare Center, you will primarily work with adults struggling with substance use disorders, many of whom may also face co-occurring mental health issues such as anxiety or depression. This role requires an empathetic approach, understanding the complex challenges that clients and their families encounter during the recovery process.
Qualifications\n- \n
- A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. \n
- Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York. \n
- Extensive knowledge of substance use disorders and experience applying evidence-based treatment modalities in a counseling setting. \n
- Proven ability to deliver effective individual and group therapy tailored to addiction treatment. \n
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, characterized by empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental demeanor. \n
- Commitment to maintaining professional boundaries and adhering to ethical standards in client interactions. \n
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant technology. \n
- Capability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. \n

- At least 1 year of related experience in the mental health or substance use treatment field. \n
- Hands-on experience with crisis intervention and managing clients in high-stress situations. \n
- Demonstrated understanding of community resources that can assist clients in their recovery process. \n
