CNC Set-up Operator

Job Title: CNC Set-Up Operator - Round Tool Manufacturing Location: Reynoldsville, PA Shift: 2nd Shift (2p to 10p, M - F) Employment Type: Full-Time; Permanent Department: Manufacturing / Tool Grinding About Us We area growing precision manufacturing team producing high-quality round cutting tools for customers across various industries. We are currently seeking an experienced Walter CNC Set-Up Operator to join our team. Position Overview The Walter CNC Set-Up Operator is responsible for setting up, proving out, operating, and performing program adjustments on Walter CNC tool & cutter grinding machines to produce precision round cutting tools. This role requires strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and hands-on experience grinding carbide and/or HSS tools to print. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate Walter CNC tool & cutter grinders (e.g., Helitronic series) for round tool production Read and interpret blueprints, tool drawings, and engineering specifications Load programs, make offsets, and perform minor edits to ensure tool geometry accuracy Perform first-piece inspection and in-process checks using appropriate measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, indicators, optical equipment, etc.) Monitor machine performance and tool quality, making necessary adjustments Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S principles Troubleshoot machine issues and work with maintenance/engineering as needed Complete production paperwork and maintain accurate records Follow all safety procedures and hazard reporting and company quality standards Qualifications Required: Experience setting up and operating Walter CNC tool & cutter grinding machines Strong understanding of round tool geometry (end mills, drills, step tools, etc.) Ability to read technical drawings and GD&T Proficiency using precision measurement tools Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and in a team environment Preferred: Experience with Walter/HMC software and/or Siemens control interfaces Background in manufacturing carbide tools Basic understanding of G-code Previous experience in a high-mix, low-volume tool grinding environment Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. occasionally Manual dexterity for handling small precision parts What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Health, dental, and vision benefits Paid time off and holidays Gender Neutral Paid Parental Leave - 14 weeks at 90% of wage Retirement plan options - 5% employer contribution plus a 3% employer match on 6% employee contribution Opportunities for skill development and internal advancement Supportive team environment Seco Tools, a subsidy of Sandvik is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
