Compensation: Up to $180,000 (commensurate with experience) Location: U.S. (Hybrid - minimum of 2 days a week in the office) Employment Type: Full-time

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to support U.S. and cross-border (Japan–U.S.) tax compliance and advisory work. This role requires strong technical expertise, ownership mentality, and the ability to manage multiple engagements in a fast-paced professional services environment.

Key Responsibilities

Manage U.S. federal and state tax compliance for corporate and individual clients

Support cross-border tax matters, including Japan–U.S. coordination

Review tax returns and workpapers prepared by staff

Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for clients

Coordinate with internal teams and external advisors

Identify tax planning opportunities and support advisory projects

Ensure deadlines, quality standards, and internal controls are met

Japanese is plus

Qualifications

CPA preferred (or in progress)

5–10+ years of relevant tax experience (public accounting preferred)

Strong knowledge of U.S. corporate and individual taxation

Experience with international or cross-border tax matters a plus

Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills

Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
