Work Environment

The Physical Therapist Assistant will operate predominantly in an onsite hospital setting where you will engage with patients in rehabilitation sessions Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Flexibility to meet patient needs outside of regular hours may occasionally be required. You will collaborate closely with a dynamic team of healthcare professionals, including Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists, to ensure comprehensive and cohesive patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed Physical Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans that focus on enhancing mobility, strength, and functionality for a diverse patient population.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, educating them on proper techniques and adjustments tailored to their specific needs.
• Administer therapeutic modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy, ensuring safety and adherence to protocols under PT supervision.
• Document and monitor patient progress effectively, tracking improvements in range of motion, strength, and functional outcomes.
• Prepare treatment areas and maintain organized equipment and supplies for efficient therapy sessions.
• Foster a supportive and motivational environment by providing emotional encouragement and guidance to patients throughout their rehabilitation journey.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate and optimize patient care for improved rehabilitation outcomes.
• Maintain professional integrity by adhering to ethical standards, ensuring patient confidentiality, and respecting patient rights.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The patients you will work with at our facility may include individuals recovering from surgery, athletes rehabilitating from injuries, older adults facing mobility challenges, and pediatric patients requiring specialized care. Your role as a PTA is pivotal in providing compassionate and tailored support that directly impacts their recovery trajectories, fostering both physical and emotional healing.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Strong foundational knowledge in anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic interventions relevant to physical therapy practices.
• Demonstrated ability to implement therapeutic exercises and modalities effectively under PT supervision.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Compassionate approach to patient management with a focus on their rehabilitation objectives.
• Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple patients and tasks concurrently.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working in a rehabilitation or clinical setting is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and patient documentation guidelines.
• Experience in providing care to a broad range of patient demographics.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 50,000 to 65,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
