Electro Mechanical Maintenance

Under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager, this position is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of all plant equipment through preventive maintenance programs, adherence to correct maintenance procedures, and implementation of safe workplace practices. The role involves troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment necessary for efficient product processing.

• Ensure optimal functioning of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing planned and unplanned maintenance on production, packaging, and processing equipment.
• Be readily available for emergency repairs in breakdown situations.
• Inspect machines and equipment to locate problems, replace defective parts, and make necessary adjustments to ensure continued production operation.
• Use hand and power tools to remove, install, replace, rebuild, repair, and test parts/equipment on plant and production equipment.
• Troubleshoot and maintain diverse equipment including motor controls, BFD, refrigeration, mixers, conveyors, sensors, printers, and packaging equipment.
• Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Complete work orders in a timely manner while maintaining high quality standards.
• Maintain communication with other departments, management, and employees to notify them of problems and concerns that may restrict production efficiency.
• Ensure paperwork is complete, clear, legible, and accurate, and all required information is documented in accordance with SOPs.
• Utilize a continuous improvement mindset to identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and ensure a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.
• Adhere to required safe work practices including logout-tagout, wearing of required PPE in designated areas, safe chemical handling, and fall restraints.

• High School Diploma or GED preferred, with formal engineering/maintenance training desired.
• Minimum of two years experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing facility, preferably in the food and beverage industry.
• Two years minimum experience in one or more required technical areas: electrical, mechanical, PLC, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, computer-controlled equipment, HVAC.
• Professional experience with ammonia refrigeration systems preferred.
• Ability to inspect equipment, recognize potential problems, and independently take corrective action.
• Proficient in evaluating, repairing, and operating production equipment.
• Welding skills and proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Basic math skills for accurate measurement and data entry.
• Skilled operation of stand-up and sit-down forklifts.

This position is for the 2nd shift from 3pm to 11pm. The work environment includes a standard production setting with exposure to noise, humidity, and temperature changes, particularly during outdoor maintenance activities. The facility manufactures products that may contain peanuts and tree nuts. Physical demands include operating machinery, using hand and power tools, and material handling equipment, with frequent sitting, standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays is required. Vision requirements include close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color distinction.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Brunswick, NJ.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
