Job Full Description CMM Programmer (Direct Hire/Full-Time) Position Summary
The CMM Programmer is responsible for programming, operating, and maintaining Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to ensure accurate and efficient inspection of new and existing parts. This position will develop and edit CMM programs using PC-DMIS software, oversee CMM room activities, support quality initiatives, and provide direction and training to CMM Operators. The CMM Programmer is responsible for programming, operating, and maintaining Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to ensure accurate and efficient inspection of new and existing parts. This position will develop and edit CMM programs using PC-DMIS software, oversee CMM room activities, support quality initiatives, and provide direction and training to CMM Operators. Key Responsibilities
- Program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
- Create, modify, and optimize CMM inspection programs using PC-DMIS software for new and existing parts.
- Ensure CMM equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
- Provide directions, training, and technical support to CMM Operators.
- Oversee critical testing and inspection procedures to ensure product quality and customer requirements are met.
- Complete and maintain customer-required Quality Plans and inspection documentation.
- Process, assign, validate, and follow up on corrective action activities.
- Assist with troubleshooting quality and production issues on the shop floor.
- Support compliance with ISO standards, quality requirements, and company procedures.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation.
- Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Production, and other departments to resolve measurement and quality issues.
- Previous experience programming and operating CMM equipment.
- Proficiency with PC-DMIS software.
- Strong understanding of dimensional inspection, GD&T, and measurement techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to train and provide technical directions to CMM Operators.
- Experience working in an ISO-certified manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
