Overview
Registered Nurse – OR travel assignment in Burlington, Vermont. Start date: 07/13/2026. Duration: 13–16 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,852 to $3,026 per week. Schedule: 3x12-hour rotating shifts (day/evening). Setting: hospital operating room. This assignment requires a strong orthopedic focus, extensive OR circulating and scrub skills, and EPIC charting experience.

- Experience and skills: 2+ years OR RN experience, 500+ bed Level 1 trauma center background, strong orthopedic proficiency, EPIC recent experience

Responsibilities
- Provide direct perioperative nursing care as an OR RN, including circulating and scrubbing across multiple specialties (general OR, GU, GYN, ENT, eyes, plastics, lap, trauma, thoracic, vascular). CVOR cases are not included.
- Prepare the sterile field, assist the surgical team, manage instrumentation, maintain counts, and ensure patient positioning and safety throughout procedures.
- Monitor patient status pre-, intra-, and post-operatively; collaborate with anesthesia and the surgical team; document in EPIC within the past two years.
- Assist with rapid response to intraoperative changes, maintain sterile technique, and support turnover between cases to maximize efficiency.
- Schedule and participate in the rotating day/evening shifts; comply with unit policies and infection control, and participate in on-call requirements: one weekday call per week and one 24-hour call in each four-week block.
- Be adaptable to unit needs and patient care demands; participate in unit orientations and continue professional practice as required.

Requirements
- Active RN license appropriate for Vermont (OR). Prior travel experience required.
- Minimum 2 years OR RN experience; must have worked in a large (500+ beds) Level 1 trauma center.
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record within the last 2 years.
- Circulate and scrub skills across general OR, GU, GYN, ENT, eyes, plastics, lap, trauma, thoracic, and vascular cases; must scrub all except CVOR.
- BLS certification is required.
- Strong ortho experience; must be able to scrub orthopedics and related procedures.
- Ability to work in a hospital OR setting with a rotating schedule; reliable transportation is recommended due to local transportation limitations.
