Description: The registered nurse will be responsible for providing care in a medical/surgical and telemetry setting. This position requires monitoring patients with various diagnoses such as chest pain, abdominal pain, urinary tract infections, and renal issues. The unit operates as an observation unit with a focus on quick patient turnover. RNs will assist with peritoneal dialysis exchanges, documentation, and related patient care tasks. Patient ratio will typically be 1:5-6 with lower acuity. Floating may be required within the specialty as needed. Every other weekend work is required as part of the schedule. Holidays may be required as scheduled. The average daily census is around 28 patients. The environment includes interdisciplinary support from various healthcare teams. Nurses must be skilled in various areas, including telemetry monitoring, oxygen administration, and managing multiple medical devices. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced setting with changing patient needs. The use of specific nursing skills, such as administering blood products and managing hemodialysis, will be involved in this role. Travelers must comply with standard onboarding and documentation requirements.
