Estimator (Training offered) (BBBH25150Detroit) Detroit, Michigan Salary: USD 90,000 - 120,000 per annum + bonus, 401K, ESOP. Are you a detail‑driven Drafter or 3D designer looking to move into estimating? You will receive training and guidance on translating technical understanding into commercial costing and pricing. We are an employee‑led construction specialist focused on custom commercial designs and bespoke employee development, helping staff shape their career and growth. This role offers the opportunity to join a well‑established specialist in glass curtain wall and façade systems. You will develop a knowledge intersection of technical design and commercial delivery, applying your design knowledge in a more commercially focused capacity. The ideal candidate has experience as a Drafter or 3D designer and is keen to work with sales teams, blueprints and drawings to understand how systems are built, translating technical detail into accurate costings and project proposals. Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates and take‑offs for glass curtain wall and façade systems from drawings, models, and specifications. Interpret architectural drawings, 3D models, and technical documents to assess materials, labour, and project requirements. Collaborate with design, engineering and project teams to develop accurate and competitive bid submissions. Support value engineering, supplier pricing, and scope reviews to ensure cost‑effective and technically sound proposals. Qualifications Background in drafting, 3D design, façade engineering, or construction estimating. Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design/modelling software. Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Detail‑oriented with strong numerical, organisational, and communication skills. The salary advertised is the bracket available for this position. The actual salary paid will be dependent on your level of experience, qualifications and skill set.
