Tool Crib Supervisor

What you will do Maintain inventory levels of manufacturing supplies and tools to support production and maintenance operations. Purchase and control indirect materials, supplies, equipment, parts, tools and services needed for battery production. Ensure all production tools meet the organization’s quality standards and calibration specifications. Supervise the tool crib to provide a safe working environment. Make safety the first priority and proactively seek to improve safety practices. Ensure proper stock levels are maintained to meet manufacturing requirements. Receive purchase requests and requisitions, review them for necessity, conformity to company policy, and completeness. Obtain competitive quotations of price and delivery on products meeting defined requirements and place orders accordingly. Determine delivery availability and discounting to optimize order points and quantities of material stores. Contact vendors to obtain information on product, service, price and ability to meet delivery date and quantity. Inform suppliers and/or contractors of unsatisfactory or substandard quality of performance and arrange for corrective action. Follow‑up and expedite delivery of purchased commodities in orderly and current condition. Transmit receiving information to accounts payable to ensure prompt payment of invoices and approve invoices based on compliance. Assure compliance with environmental, safety and health regulations, good housekeeping practices and all quality specifications. Perform other duties directed by supervisor. Work overtime as required to meet internal and external customer requirements. What we look for Four‑year technical degree preferred; comparable experience may be considered. Minimum 4 years of relevant purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with MAXIMO and SAP software is a plus. Ability to operate a computer workstation and knowledge of related software. Knowledge of purchasing, supplier qualification, and vendor/supplier management. Understanding of 5S and Lean Manufacturing concepts. Effective negotiation skills. Experience with project/task management, including planning, prioritizing, organizing and analyzing. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
