Job Description Job Description Employment & Labor Associate Attorney Los Angeles, Santa Monica, or San Diego Direct Counsel is seeking an Employment & Labor Associate Attorney with 1–3 years of experience to join a leading law firm with a strong national platform and a highly respected employment practice. About the Role: This position offers hands-on, substantive work across a wide range of employment matters. The ideal candidate brings broad experience and strong judgment, along with an interest in growing within a dynamic and collaborative team. Key Responsibilities: Handle all phases of employment litigation, including case development , legal research and writing , discovery , witness interviews , and brief drafting Provide employment counseling on policies and practices , statutory and regulatory compliance , and employment/separation agreements Work closely with partners and senior attorneys, with opportunities to mentor junior associates Contribute to a practice that values initiative, teamwork, and high-quality client service Qualifications: 1–3 years of employment law experience Strong academic credentials and excellent legal writing and communication skills Demonstrated motivation, initiative, and professionalism Active California Bar admission required Compensation & Benefits: Salary range: $225,000–$260,000, depending on location and experience Robust benefits package including medical, dental, vision, HSA/FSA options, commuter benefits, firm-paid insurance, generous PTO, parental leave, fertility benefits, and more If you’re looking for a meaningful opportunity with a top-tier employment team, this role offers an exceptional platform for growth.
