Job Overview Fuel is one of the most vital components of the Army National Guard. As a Petroleum Supply Specialist you will ensure the proper handling, storage, and shipment of petroleum‑based products such as oil, fuel, and compressed gas. Your role includes supervising the reception, storage, and shipping of bulk or packaged petroleum products, operating specialized pumping equipment, selecting and submitting samples for testing, performing petroleum and water accounting activities, testing petroleum samples for contamination, repairing specialized equipment, and maintaining facility safety procedures and storage guidelines. Job Duties Receive and stock bulk and packaged products. Issue and dispense bulk fuels and water from storage and distribution facilities to units. Essential Skills Operating airplane refueling systems and equipment. Planning and scheduling petroleum transport. Testing oil and fuels. Helpful Skills Interest in shop mechanics and business math. Enjoyment of physical work. Career Development Through training you will develop skills and experience that support a civilian career with oil refineries, pipeline companies, and tanker truck and ship lines. After 10 weeks of Basic Training and 11 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT), you will have both hands‑on and classroom training. Earn While You Learn You will receive a regular paycheck while learning valuable job skills and qualify for tuition assistance. The Guard also offers certified apprenticeship programs for some specialties. Benefits Paid training. A monthly paycheck. Montgomery GI Bill. Federal and State tuition assistance.
