Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to join our dynamic team. This position will focus on delivering high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced emergency department environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients of all ages, primarily geriatric and adult populations, while also accommodating pediatric patients as needed.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care strategies in a high-acuity, high-volume ER setting.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to manage cases related to respiratory issues, stroke, abdominal pain, cardiac events, and sepsis.
• Participate in patient transports, particularly for pediatric patients needing specialized care.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in the electronic health record system.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1.5 years of experience in emergency nursing; 2 years preferred.
• Experience in stroke care is required; candidates without this experience will not be considered.
• Proficiency with the EPIC electronic health record system is highly preferred.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS. TNCC and CEN or CPN certifications are preferred.
• Must be willing to work weekends, with the potential for exceeding every other weekend shift to meet staffing needs.
• Available to float between like units, including tele and ICU as necessary.

Working Conditions

This position involves working night shifts with a schedule comprising three 12-hour shifts. While scheduling preferences may be considered, they are not guaranteed. The facility allows for one call-off per two-week pay period, so flexibility is expected.
